Evening; workshop with Thrity Vakil (Farmer) and dinner with Chef Natalia Vallejo, you can take a walk around the farm or join the team that will be helping tend to some trees. To maintain good safe distance individual tables will be set up by groups. Workshop in English.

Our July Farm Table starts with an introduction to the Las Casas de la Selva Sustainable Forestry & Rainforest Enrichment Project in Patillas, established in 1983. There will be a guided walk into the plantation land with director and artist, Thrity (3t) Vakil, who has lived in this forest since 2000. Her overarching themes include:
Recognizing Forest People
Understanding forests to understand the history of Puerto Rico
Growing hardwood trees as part of the economy and ecology of the land
Learning resilience from trees, especially after Hurricane Maria
Protecting Water Sources

Time to relax or get a bit dirty! You can take a walk around the farm or for those wishing to participate in some physical activities, there will be work in the tree nursery, to clear weeds, repot trees, and other clearings around fruit trees on the homestead.
Let’s get fancy! 6:00pm
Have you ever tasted the freshness? We will be gathering ingredients right from the surrounding community of farmers to the kitchen in the field. We trust Natalia Vallejo, revered chef of Cocina al Fondo and currently, James Beard Award, nominee to delight us with her subtle grand’ flavors. We have honored guests: The local fish and Puerto Rican vanilla.
