So Hurricane Fiona desvasted Puerto Rico....but not before Hurricane María 2017 and the 2020 Earthquakes. It's been one disaster after another, but one thing VisitRico is sure of is that we can't lose our farmers to change professions, no matter how Climate Change decides to say hello next time. We need them to feed us!

We’ve been on board to support our farmers for every major natural disaster with no-restriction cash grants that have proven to be an incredibly effective recovery resource, eliminating the tedious red tape that no one really needs in stressful times where we all feel like zombies.

With the Hurricane Maria fundraiser, for example, we were able to reach and give financial support, thanks to individual donors, local foundations, and abroad, united to Fundraiser together. 1,500 x 3 months for 100 + farmers, including the FarmAid support. Over half a million dollars, including direct cash grants, volunteerism with our friends from City Winery, and equipment for farmers. The 2020 Earthquakes were the same. We continue to thrive as a direct partner for farmers.

So, we have decided to make it as easy as possible: a Code of Honor System. To prove that if we not only trust farmers to feed ourselves and to feed our family but also with their word. With the Network born from the lists of both natural disasters, we are inviting them to tell us where they stand and we'll get it from there to support them. “We are here for you, we love and trust you”.

These are unrestricted cash grants for whatever they need to do, giving priority to the central southeast, south, and southwest regions.
